The annual KZ2 Superprix and English Championship took place at Shenington, making it the perfect warm-up for the third round of the British KZ2 Championship in just one weeks time!
Qualifying took place in wet conditions and provided challenging conditions on the high speed Banbury circuit.
Ella set the 4th fastest time, giving her the inside of the second-row for the two heats that would follow.
Heat 1 took place in drying conditions, that were borderline between slicks or wet tyres. Ella was in the group that opted for wets - but was forced to start from the back of the grid due to an issue.
She made good progress, making it up to P7 from P15 in the first 6 laps - however the pack who started on slicks began to have a much superior pace, demoting her to P11 at the chequered flag.
Heat 2, now in dry conditions saw Ella initially drop back to P6 on the opening lap. However as the race unfolded, she began to set multiple fastest laps - as she made up lost ground to recover to P4 at the finish.
These result meant Ella would start from P6 on the grid for the English Championship & Superprix KZ2 Final.
Despite a difficult start, Ella was able to bide her time as she came on very strong from half-distance in the race! Setting a pace that was much superior to the leaders, as she rose from P7 to P4 - gaining rapidly on the leading group.
She latched onto the back of the fight for the podium and the victory, however just running out of laps to lift herself onto the podium - despite setting the fastest lap of the race once again.
Ella heads into Round 3 of the KZ2 British Kart Championship well prepared following her strong pace in the Superprix, which will take place on the 21-23 July.
